Part 1: Watch the video clips below
An American video, but the process is still the same (when he says 10 dollar bills and 1 dollar bills, think of it as £10 and £1). He carries the digits above the columns rather than below (you can do either method).
Part 2: Complete the SATs Maths questions and read the purple sections in the blue revision guide
Part 3; Complete the Literacy work below
Click on the link below for lots of helpful information about all of the different writing genres.
For your Literacy homework:
Look carefully at all of the writing genres and make sure you learn what features to include for each genre. (Use the revision sheets and the bitesize link above)
Complete the following pieces of writing (use the video clips to help you):
1. A Mystery Story with the title: "The Jewellery Box"
Story start: A woman enters a sinister-looking antique shop with a little girl, the girl can hear a mysterious voice echoing from an antique jewellery box - what happens next?
2. A balanced Argument (Discussion Text)
Title: What are the reasons for and against tourists being allowed to climb Mount Snowdon?
Click the image above to go to a video clip to help you with your writing - don't just copy the example given, see if you can include your own personal writing voice and even more interesting details and examples for each statement. As well as this, include a conclusion as this is not given in the example shown. So, let's get started... First off, what kind of introduction will you begin with? (Imagine... A statistic... A vivid description... A question... Or a combination of these...?)
Try to spend 30-40 minutes and no longer than 1 hour on each of the pieces of writing
